Services : Ghostwriting
Some clients approach me with only an idea, others have life stories to tell. Most ghostwriting clients have several things in common: they don’t have the time, inclination, or the skills necessary to write their books.
I do the writing; you receive the credit and retain the copyright. Your name appears on the book.
If you are seeking ghosting services for something other than a book, such as an article, essay, or proposal, please inquire using my submit form. If you’ve already begun your book and are seeking a ghostwriter to help you complete it, mention this and send samples of what you’ve written.
I specialize in memoir, autobiography, and creative nonfiction. I also work with clients wishing to write biographies, self-help, how-to, collections (family histories, correspondences, recipes, photographs), and books on health and travel.
What you will need . . .
- Availability to keep a schedule of interviewing and relaying the information that I need (this can be a combination of phone conversations, e-mails, written documents). If you are local, or it is necessary for me to meet with you in person, arrangements can be made.
- Any materials you feel may be necessary to writing the book. This may include correspondence, medical records, family history, timelines, documented research, outlines, or material you've previously written on the topic.
- Willingness to invest some of your personal time on the project.
What I will provide . . .
- Experience, excellent writing skills, a keen eye for storytelling, the ability to reflect your style in the prose, and the talent to hone your story.
- Assistance with developing your idea, and the ability to provide valuable suggestions, insight, and perspective.
- Knowledge of the publishing industry, market research, identification of readership demographics, and marketability.
- Contact with agents and/or publishers. Guidance in the realm of self-publishing, if you are interested in pursuing that route. Assistance with drafting and editing marketing materials such as book proposals, queries, and synopses.
- Expert editorial services for your manuscript and the option to employ outside editorial consultation.
- Commitment and the expertise necessary to transform your narrative into a book.
Fees
The cost of ghostwriting a book varies and is largely dependent on the scope of the project. I typically work with hourly rates; however, I’m happy to work with a project rate once the scope of the project is decided. I do not work with royalties.
