DARLA BRUNO has an extraordinary flair for shaping and directing a manuscript, while maintaining the natural voice and style of the author. Clients have praised her ability to smooth through rough patches, detect errors in fact and consistency, ask the right questions, and never miss a deadline. Darla provides a range of talent from expert proofreading to manuscript critique, Web content development, copy editing, ghostwriting, proposal writing, and agent contact. She has a strong working relationship with clients spanning from fiction writers and nonprofits to educational publishers.

Darla studied methods of critique, literary form, and fiction writing at Emerson College in Boston, where she earned a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. She is a former college instructor, tutor, and writing mentor who won several awards for her work in journalism, poetry, and essays. During her time at Emerson, she read fiction for Ploughshares literary magazine, where she was also an editorial assistant, actively participated in local writers’ groups, and published her poetry and fiction in a variety of literary magazines.

An avid reader with a love for both contemporary and classic literature, Darla brings an informed perspective, as well as creative enthusiasm to her work. She’s edited a range of material, from memoirs to erotica, biographies, marketing material, textbooks, software manuals, Web content, poetry, essays, short story collections and more. She specializes in art, travel, film, food and wine, nutrition, psychology, memoir, and literary fiction.
